Brauhaus am Lohberg zu Wismar anno 1452 in Wismar

The meal was an absolute disaster. The potatoes tasted like they were in a glass, totally musty, the vegetables completely overcooked and the fish dry. The service, on the other hand, is exemplary. Very nice and friendly. But the food really didn't work out at all.

Although the brewery has a nice ambience and a good location, we were unfortunately disappointed. The beer is quite good and the staff is friendly too. Only the food is a gamble, some things were good, others bad, the Brauhausburger is not recommended. It makes you full, but that was all. The position together with red cabbage salad under the huge piece of meat also spoils the taste. The pork schnitzel was also on the takeaway level, probably from the freezer. The veal schnitzel was okay. Most of the dishes were rather lukewarm when they arrived at the table. The sausage goulash was absolutely bad for the children and that in the "East" I don't know what the cook was thinking. The cream sauce with the schnitzel was sour. Only the fish was good but it was also freshly prepared and it came later than the others to eat. At least I would not recommend this place for eating. Even considering the prices, the quality of the food is too poor.

Perfect for people who like it rustic. Great ambience and, as is typical for a brewery, a large selection of in-house beers. Food is super sufficient and tastes good, prices are okay. Location is really great and a reservation is recommended. Drinking in a café and sitting outside is also possible.

Ambience outstanding and service very nice / attentive. Schnitzel wasn't the roar, as tough and too long in the deep fryer. My wife's roast was great! Nevertheless: a dirty schnitzel can break a lot;)

The building itself is very old (1452 to the present)! The environment in the restaurant is very good, with home-brewed beer and fresh fish!

A very nice brewery in the heart of Wismar. As soon as you enter the door at the end of the stairs, you can expect a quaint ambience with a beautiful long counter behind which you can marvel at a still active brewery. After a short hesitation, we decided on Mumme. A dark homebrewed beer that didn't disappoint. As a highlight, we treated ourselves to a whiskey from our own production, which could convince with its light fruity notes. Unfortunately we didn't get to order something to eat, which we will have to do soon.

Highly recommended if you don't feel like having fish rolls and the like. Here you can eat home-style at an acceptable price. Quality, location and service are really good.

Highly Recommended! The brewery in Wismar scores with several home-brewed beers and excellent food in a nice atmosphere. In addition, there are nice staff and short waiting times. In short: definitely worth a visit.

Super tasty beer. Very nice ambience inside. We found the food to be delicious and the staff was very service minded. All beers are also available to take away. All in all, a successful meal with ambience and delicious beers at a fair price. I can't confirm the bad reviews. Keep it up!

Expensive prices for food. Dishes served are not warm and not really good. We were quite disappointed in regards of the price. They make their own beer, what is in fashion in Germany, but the taste is not the best. Crew is bored and not very welcoming. Waste of time and money. Better avoid the well known tourist spots. They don't care about service and quality, because people are coming there anyway.

Positive: the service staff is very friendly and quick. Ambience is right! Extensive menu and affordable prices. Cons: Unfortunately the food. Never have I ever had such bad food in a brewery. The soup was more of a porridge and there was a piece of wood in it. The meat was dry. The side dish is bland. The sauce was inedible. Everything was arranged very carelessly. The plate was dirty. The food came very quickly, I didn't have to wait 10 minutes, it is never freshly prepared! And unfortunately you can taste that too. After that I had a stomachache for hours and my bowel also "thanked you". Please look for a new chef!

We were here for dinner today in the Brauhaus am Lohberg, the reception was super friendly, it is respected at a distance and the place was cleaned again beforehand that is already 5 *****. Actually I wanted to eat Steak Strindberg but unfortunately there wasn't. So I took a mega delicious burger, really mega yummy, the rest I took with me, my friend ate spareribs, it was also mega tender and delicious so everything was great food and great service. We like to come back on vacation from Bremen. Highly recommended thanks for the great food.

There were three of us in the door without pre-order. Restaurant was full. We had to wait a moment, a table had paid and after the guests had left the table was immediately cleaned and cleared and we could take a seat. We had hardly admired the great ambience when the cards came and we were asked about the drinks. The note for querying the data was included. In a nutshell: we were not disappointed, the food was great and served in a timely manner. Price performance good.

We have been there several times in recent years. Unfortunately I have to say that the food here has deteriorated very much. A burger for € 17.90 in which you put a meatball of 250 grams in it doesn't work at all. The meatball was extremely dry for the size. The schnitzel felt like beautiful molded meat. Unfortunately we will not be back. The staff was friendly.

We ate here recently, by booking in advance of course. The restaurant was full, but the condition kept a good overview. The aperitif was great and we also liked the food. However, we were not made according to our personal details here either, even though it is actually law, right? Even with the distance rules, both eyes were probably turned a blind eye. Well in better times we will definitely come back.

The schnitzel was unfortunately not very tasty. Very streaky and sinewy. The knuckle was extremely crispy. Inside there was a lack of juiciness. The staff, however, was very friendly and courteous. The food was served quickly.

Nice atmosphere. The service is friendly and welcoming. The food is classic German. Can be recommended for lunch, dinner or a beer break. They also have a large selection of cake if you want an afternoon coffee. There is both indoor and outdoor dining. They take cards.

Was very good, the food came at the same time and hot. My wife's fish portion was 5 stars, my half duck was 3 stars. The staff ran at 7:00 p.m. because the shop was full. In my opinion, there is still one person missing at the counter. The tall lady did the best job, the very young lad is still practicing. All in all, it was good.

Really delicious food, great beer and great atmosphere and interior. Professional and kind staff.

Two hard-working staff covered both rooms well. Food is decent. Beer is decent. Our waiter was good and friendly, speaks good English and I speak decent Deutsch. But at payment time we paid cash and got no change. Waiter went off to other things, but I'm sure no misunderstanding. While it was only 1-2 Euro more than we would have tipped we didn't bother. Still, we would rather give the money than have it taken from us. Pay with card.

The chips was served almost raw, and the fish was not fully fried (more cooked). The beer felt not so fresh.

Very large meals and this is great but there was bad tea and service. I didn't like the place anyway.

Bad beer. Mediocre food. How disrespectful of yourself as a cook and in front of the guest you have to be to serve vegetables from the freezer? Incomprehensible. Brewmaster schnitzel without any sauce. Just a dry schnitzel. Plaice also comes completely without sauce or remoulade. Catastrophe. I'll never go back here.

The beers are nice and staff was also well behaving. We arrived at the brewery and we were in hurry. We asked the waiter to suggest some good beer, he suggested the red beer and also he brought us beers for tasting. In the end, we bought 2 litres of red beers and reached at station in time.

Great seafood, great German wines, great beer. The herring was especially good!

This place is absolutely lovely. Amazing staff, amazing food, beautiful location. The beer is tasty - and they even reserved all space for us to watch the football on the largest screen in the side room. I was almost crying with how much they bent over backwards to make us happy guests. Easiest 5 star review I've given in a long time.

This restaurant is excellent. We've been here several times in the last two years and the cuisine is always good, often extremely good. They brew their own beer. Definitely worth trying. Last weekend (end of September) was a bank holiday weekend in Germany. They had to turn away about 50 people!

Food was decent in a lovely town but the service was terrible, waited 20+ minutes for food after everyone else at the table had eaten. When we asked for the bill after giving up waiting, the server slammed the plates down on the table and stormed off. Horrible.

Bierbrauersauce - the one to die for!

Really tasty beer from their own brewery, also a nice renovated old building. The beer is not that expensive 4,50 eu for a liter bottle to take home. Didn't ordered any food but it smelled quite nice.

I'm generally happy-go-lucky, but somehow I got steely looks from our waiter, and got yelled (actually) at by the upstairs staff, here. The "three green herrings" dish was yummy, and so was their pilsner, made on premises. Mixed bag. Maybe it was the summer help...
